Time Out Tour

Today we headed to a couple of wineries but first we will do a detour to look at the panoramic views from the top of Mount Arapiles

“On recently moving to Horsham and out having a meal, I was told to try a local Shiraz. When I did, I turned to my friend and said, ‘goodness me, this just melts in the mouth’.

Not quite what you would expect to hear; however, in that moment, it was the perfect way to describe the wine”.

This is the ‘Time Out’ tour which we run every Saturday and Sunday, when we take you to Barangaroo Boutique Wines and Norton Estate. Two delightful wineries where you will meet the people who grow grapes and make the wine. On the way there we take a detour and drive up to the lookout at Mt. Arapiles. Simply put, this is the most stunning panorama that we have ever seen. From high up a vista of 180 degrees and a view stretching 80 to 100 kilometers in every direction. We allow about 30 minutes here to give you a chance to take it all in and probably want to share it on your favorite social media platform. Leaving here we take the 20-minute drive to Barangaroo Wines. Here you will meet your hosts Chris and Sheila, growers and makers of these ‘Single Block’ wines. Be sure to try the Sparkling Shiraz and the Vermentino along with the traditional varieties.

Sheila makes a ‘deadly,’ (that’s an Aussie way of saying, really good) gourmet pizza if you are feeling peckish. Following your tastings and maybe a glass of wine, we drive the short distance to Norton Estate.

The vines here are a little older, single block and also seriously good. Chris and Sam are your hosts and Chris will have a cheese platter in front of you in no time if you want to compliment your tastings. After spending an hour at each winery, it will be time to head back to Horsham and drop you back at your accommodation.
