Cave Paintings and Grampians (Gariwerd) Tour
The Grampians Mountain range sits in the center of Western Victoria. One of the oldest ranges in the world with lots of astonishing shapes to the many rocky outcrops you will ever see. Also, home to Aboriginal Rock paintings that are around 22000 years old. Check out the full itinerary on this not to be missed opportunity to step back in time.

On this 6-hour tour, you will have the opportunity to see, not just the wonders of nature, but some of the artwork of the world’s oldest, and continuous culture. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Inlanders have lived ‘on country’ for around 65.000 years.
We start with a pickup in Horsham CBD at 10 am.
Our first stop is just a fun moment when 30 minutes later we pull up at Dadswell Bridge to see The Giant Koala and grab a few selfies.
From here we will travel to Bunjil’s Shelter in The Black Range which is just East of The Grampians. Bunjil was The Creator of all the land, rivers and hills. The cave paintings are believed to be about 22.000 years old. The painting at Bunjil’s Shelter is regarded as the most important of these and is the only known painting of Bunjil.
(The cave is not far from the car park. A low level of fitness is required, and sturdy shoes should be worn.)
From here to Halls Gap and drop into The Aboriginal Cultural Centre. Learn something of the Indigenous tribes of this area and look at artwork, artifacts and giftware made by artist and craftspeople from around Australia. Half an hour and back to where the restaurants and cafes are. Time to eat before we take the road through the ‘Bush’ to our second shelter, Ngamadjidj Shelter.
The drive there is through native bush, and there is every chance to spot a Kangaroo or Emu. Once there this whole area is stunning. The rock outcrops will have your camera going non-stop. It would also be unusual to visit without seeing a Kangaroo.
After 30 to 40 minutes here a short drive to The Grampians Olive Oil Co. for a coffee and a chance to taste some olive oil if it’s what you like. Half hour here and it’s back to Horsham for a 4 pm drop off.
